I am incredibly lucky to get to have the fun that I do creating these incredible days with so many incredible humans, but this day was something more entirely. If you know me personally, one look at this wedding tells you my entire soul and personality went into this day, but the best part? So did Arianna and Nate’s.
Arianna’s mom met our team at a classic beauty of a wedding – traditional, black and white, formal, elgance, and thought to refer us, but that isn’t what happened here! Somehow mom still made me cry happy tears at the end of the night because she was so impressed that Arianna and Nate got their day, but she also loved every single second.
Honestly, there are WAY too many incredible details, and each one makes me want to cry all over again, so here are the highlights!
- We had two officiants, me, and Edgar Allen Poe! Our incredible Poe, played by Valentine, created the most amazing script based on all the macabe stories to perform in front of 70 of the couple’s closest friends and family. They also read their incredibly sweet and perfect vows at that time. I had the honor of performing a mini ceremony in the Rose Gardens before hand for just wedding party and immediate family and it was entirely Taylor Swift themed for my goth Swifties.
- The attire – Arianna had three Lisa Marie Couture (also a guest at the wedding) gowns (one for the rehearsal), each one perfectly representing her. Nate of course matched in his incredible couture suits!
- The flowers – I’ll never get over the magic Janelle at Green Petal Designs created. That woman puts up with me on levels you can’t even imagine – I called and texted sooo many times with strange ideas, including the appropriate shape of the mushrooms needed to give a vibe, and she never questioned the insanity. We had a ceremony we could frolic through and a literal masterpiece of a reception.
- The music – With Nate being in the industry, this needed to be completely on point and it was incredible. We had multiple DJs the couple know personally and they were given some direction, like everyone must play one Taylor Swift song, we must have a sad song hour, things like that, but the rest was trust! One of my favorite parts of the night though, Nate’s dad and uncle playing and singing their first dance song – absolutely perfection.
- The little details – Every single detail was thought through to a perfect point, starting with the invitations. Molly at Olympic Place Prints managed to create the most incredible velvet and seed paper invitations, completely letterpressed (with custom sugar skull) menu, seed paper seating chart to go on my handmade moss frame, and so many little details. Nate created the most incredible lighting set up through the space to set one epic vibe along with little moments throughout the yard of faerie houses, mini discos, and so many fun tiny details. I filled the space with custom made moss skulls, disco mushrooms, tiny hand painted black skulls, and little Ravens (of course). There were old books, Poe memorial items, poems, and so many detais tying this theme perfectly together.
- The bud bar! Did I mention we had the wedding on 4/20/2024 (a perfect palindrome) at 4:20pm? Of course we had a bud bar on the top deck of the yard over looking basically the entire bay area.
Seriously I could go on and on forever about all the magic of this day, but I’ll stop so you can watch this incredible video and see all of the amazing photos! Thank you SOOOOO much to the incredible team that made literal dreams come true and my amazing couple who completely trusted my insanity.
