There are no words for this one! Planning Claire and Brian’s wedding was a dream. For those that don’t know, Claire is one of our dreamy wedding assistants when she can – normally she works in florals – so this day had to be epic. So, since this day has been featured on Ruffled Blog, here’s what Claire and I had to say about this insanely incredible day!
When it came to choosing the perfect venue for their wedding, this couple knew they wanted something that reflected their love for the lush, tropical vibes of Hawaii and The Lighthouse at Glen Cove Marina delivered just that. It was anything but ordinary, offering a beautiful mix of historical character and greenery, creating a setting that was both rich in personality and full of life. The venue’s natural lushness paired perfectly with the couple’s vibrant wedding design, which took a playful spin on tropical lusciousness and citrus themes. Going for a tropical vibe in Northern California made sense, however we had the wild plot twist of an epic hail storm hitting the venue just twenty minutes before the outdoor wedding was about to commence! The team pivoted perfectly and with pushing things back only a bit the venue, planning, catering, DJ, and floral teams brought it back to life so the ceremony and reception could still take place outside!
With the bride being a florist and wedding planning assistant, the design had to be on point. After deciding on citrus themes she collaborated closely with The Flower House to come up with something trendy, but still different! They came up with the most incredible ombré arch in the most vibrant colors for the ceremony with baskets of flowers capping the aisle and incredible citrus trees acted as the star of the reception! Having worked with AnneMarie at Something Blue Productions, the bride knew all she needed to do was send over a few inspirational ideas and she would come up with the perfect ideas. The linens and placemats from BBJ Linens, including the Marina Guava that inspired it all, were definitely a highlight of the day, and mixed with the epic floral designs and Bright Rentals décor, it all came together perfectly. The mother of the groom, Cathy, created all of the stationery and paper goods which was such a sweet touch to tie it all together.
Their love story is just as charming as their wedding day. They met at a flower shop in San Francisco, where he handled tech and customer service, and she worked in floral creations. On Mother’s Day, as the shop bustled with orders, he found himself wrapping bouquets, and their connection bloomed from there. He later proposed in the most perfectly low-key way, over lunch at a winery. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, including a friend who was there when they first connected officiating and the bride’s mother offering a special reading.
The reception was an incredible party. DJ Just-IN of JustINtertainment killed it, as he always does, and a highlight for so many was the tattoo station! Yes, real tattoos. Over 20 guests received a permanent tattoo that night from hand-selected flash tattoos, including the couple’s mothers! We also made sure to have a temporary tattoo station for “those who couldn’t commit” that guests had a blast taking part in. Guests danced, hit the photo booth, had incredible signature cocktails of Cucumber Mojitos and John Dalys, had a late-night snack of mac ‘n cheese and chicken and waffles, and tattooed the night away. Every moment and detail, perfectly celebrated this incredible couple.
Thank you to the dream team for bringing this day to life!
